Back Passenger is a photographic exploration of childhood memory, drawn from long car rides where the scenery moved faster than thought. Inspired by a time in the 1970s when children were handed a film camera to pass the hours in the back seat, this project reimagines that perspective with wonder, spontaneity, and quiet observation.
This work is about the space between destinations. About what is noticed when nothing demands your attention. It invites the viewer to slow down not yet burdened by expectation. To look without assumption. To find meaning without control.
There is a quiet strength in remaining childlike as we grow older. To carry a sense of openness, to meet the world with curiosity, and to move the world without malice. These photographs are not souvenirs. They are fragments of what it felt to simply notice the world as it passed by.
